Alright, whenever I do a search on this department, itsjust a bunch of out dated threads with a bunch of guys bashing some fat security guard that used to work there, or just knocking the entire department....
So my questions is this....When I went to the UMass HR section of their website, it says they're hiring a 0600-1400 CPO. When I do a search on Masscops, the same opening comes up (several times) back to 2 years ago.
My questions:
Is this department still hiring or is the website out dated?
Have things changed at the dept. since all the bashing threads ended about a year ago?
Hows the pay there now?
Anyone work there that can offer some insight to the CURRENT department?
Pros & Cons of working at UMass Memorial?

I am very suprised at the pay differences. I worked at a hospital where the base salary was much better than most of those, Plus $2.50 for 2nd shift, $4.00 for third shift, and $2.50 on top of that on the weekend. So, if your base salary was $18.00 hr, on 3rd shift weekend you would make $24.50 hr. Not bad for hospital security.
This was posted and when asked which department, mikeyd1313 stated it was UMass/Memorial.
Just to let you know.

I think they are armed now. Go up there and check the place out, they are very nice guys up there. Helped my grandmother when she got lost in the hospital.

Yes, they are armed now. Starting pay is good and the differential is even better.

Just to let you all know, as of last night, the job posting is no longer on the UMass Memorial website. It was on early in the day, but as of right now, no longer present. I should have applied when I first saw it, oh well, you live and you learn.
