I am looking for information on the new AFSCME titles.
For all you State and Comm College Officers.
I know of one college that has already made their Sergeants Campus Police Officer III but kept them as Sergenats(NSCC). I know other college made their Campus Police Officers II into -III but call them Lieutenants, and only made some of their Campus Police Officers I into Campus Police Officers II and called them Sergeants. (Bunker Hill) Can each college make it's own rules as to who gets what?
One college is going for reclassification all together while another was told that it was Officer by Officer who got what.
North Shore is hire Officers at Campus Police Officer II rate to start are any other departments doing this?
If you are one of the lucky ones to get reclassified, did you get back pay from July 1, 2007 or when you filed?
Thanks

New rank it's kinda a sergeant and a lieutenant mixed together.

I saw it on andy griffith last week.

My typing skills must be off, but I am glad that you both can read.
Nice if you could help with the question.
I was told this was a good place to get information,
but what I have been reading it looks like a place for desk jockeys to get their rocks off writing bull shit and bitching about other departments for no good reason. One must look at ones self before one can step forward!
Now if you someone could answer the question about the Sergeants and Lieutenants I thank you or is this just another site for juvenile answers.

bluenote, welcome to MassCops. Eventually you may very well get an answer to your question, but if you're going to get pissy after two ribbings, I think you're on the wrong site. This place is like a locker room, there's some kidding, some nasty stuff, some name calling, but in the end, for the most part, people do help each other out.

But you gotta be able to take the ribbing to survive.

And to be honest, your original post was a bit confusing, and I'm a being of superior intelect!

The classifications are actually not new. CPO I, II, III and Chief of Police were there decades ago. Most state schools have CPO II's as Sgts. The CPO III positions were actually an extinct animal for the most part. On one AFSCME scale I saw from back in the early 80s', the CPO III actually was one grade higher than Campus Police Chief.

Thanks for the info. The ADA says the same thing about my reports.

Really that's not what I've heard..all new hires are still starting as CPO1's and as far as giving officers promotions to Sgts and Sgts to Lt.'s..I don't see that happening here...folks will just get a pay bump..and already looking at the AFSCME pay chart..going from a CPO1 to a CPO2 the bump really isn't all that great...I think for me its about whopping $16 a week...of course with so much ot being rammed down our throats who looks at base pay
