I am seeing more and more of these aftermarket LED lights--in blue.
Do you stop them and cite for Chapter 90/7E? Many of them are *very* bright. How do people think this is OK?

I can't remember if its under C90 S7 or a CMR however you cannot modify the lighting of a vehicle in any manner.
This includes washer lights, under carridge lights etc. regardless of color.
I dont think I'd write them for the blue light violation but rather for the "aftermarket lighting"
I believe they expanded more on this issue when they addressed the neon lighting that was getting popular a few years ago. Check your Pat Rogers or Scheft book and I'm sure they have a section on it. I remember it was a highlight at in-service a couple years back.
If you can't find it let me know and I'll go look it up for you.

Right.
Would it change your opinion if they were forward-facing on the hood (where the wipers are)? Saw one of those last week.

7E is "flashing, rotating or oscillating". There is a CMR for non compliant aftermarket lighting. Use that one, unless of course the light flashes, rotates or oscillates.
