Police patrolling Main Street pulled over the green Oldsmobile, driven by Carmelo Santos, 31, of 12 State St., after observing Santos go through a red light around 5 p.m., Sgt. Glenn Fossa said.
Santos was unable to provide officers with a valid registration to match the plates on his car, Fossa said.

LEOMINSTER -- Members of the North Worcester County Drug Task Force arrested two area men Thursday after breaking up an alleged drug deal in the parking lot of Orchard Hill Park, according to court documents. Leominster Police Detective Joseph L. Siciliano Jr. wrote in a report that task force members had witnessed a previous alleged drug buy between Paul A. Vitone, 35, of 106 Cedar St., #1, in Clinton and another man driving a Ford Taurus in the area.

Police arrested Vitone and Manuel Castro, 49, of 155 Milk St., after seeing Vitone get into Castro's Taurus Thursday afternoon. Vitone allegedly tried to get back into his car and Castro allegedly started swallowing a substance believed to be cocaine as officers approached.
Siciliano reported finding three bags of crack cocaine and $100 in cash upon searching Vitone's car. Both men appeared in Leominster District Court Friday and were held on bail -- Vitone is being held on $2,500 for the charge of possession of a class B substance (cocaine) and Castro is being held on $5,000 for the charge of possession of cocaine with intent to distribute. Both are due in court for pretrial hearings Jan. 31.
