Surveillance Video Shows Women Using Cards At Store

Video: Police Say Cards Stolen In Two Locations

CONCORD, N.H. -- Police in Concord are asking for the public's help in locating two women who they say stole credit cards and spent almost $9,000 at stores in three towns.

Surveillance pictures taken at a drug store in Londonderry show the two women using cards taken from two locations in Concord late last month, police said.

Investigators said the first card was taken at a bridal shop on North Main Street, where one of the women occupied the clerk while the other went through her purse. Police sad the same thing happened a short time later at Concord Hospital.

"Later that day at Concord Hospital, a similar incident happened where two females entered the building, went into one of the medical offices, kept the employee busy while the other went into the back office and removed the wallet with the cards in it," Sgt. John Thomas said.

Police said the women used the cards to go on a spending spree, charging thousands of dollars over the next few hours. The cards were used in stores in Manchester, Londonderry and Bedford. A total of 10 locations were targeted, police said.

Investigators said the women bought mostly electronics and video game systems. The charges ranged from $1,000 spent at a Sears store to $11 spent at a Londonderry Wendy's.

"At some point, the credit card company informed the victim at the hospital that her cards were being used, and the cards were canceled," Thomas said. "The victim at the bridal shop discovered the missing cards on her own and remembered that these two females had entered."

Anyone with information was asked to call Concord police at 603-225-8600.
