I am looking to become certified as an EMT anyone know where classes are and the price range?

Shaun is a great instructor and close to Reading with both of his locations:
LOWELL CLASS: Lowell Police Training Center Cross Point Towers, Rt 3 at Rt 110 on the Lowell-Chelmsford line.
Course runs Jan 15 - mid-May, 2008 Classes are Tuesdays & Thursdays, 7PM — 10PM plus 5 Saturday sessions 8AM - 2PM.SALEM, MA CLASS: Contact Shaun Dean, Lead Instructor, for Salem class location.
Course runs Jan 21 - mid-May, 2008 Classes are Mondays & Thursdays, 6PM — 10PM plus 5 Saturday sessions 8AM - 2PM.
The cost of the course is $950.00. This cost includes:
Course book and workbook
Binder with class handouts and study guides
Access to the course website containing class slides, quizzes, case studies and links to additional information
Some "tools of the trade" - pocket mask, trauma shears, etc.
MA State Practical Exam fee

APPLICATIONS: Applications must be received by: Lowell - January 10, 2008 Salem - January 18, 2008 (after that date, call or email for availability).

ATTENDANCE: The Massachusetts Office of EMS requires 100% attendance. If you miss a class it MUST be made up. Make ups may consist of you traveling to another EMT course to sit in on missed lectures, or meeting with the instructor on additional dates, or attending a scheduled make up session.
PAYMENT SCHEDULE:
1. DO NOT send any money with the application. 2. Once you have been accepted into the course you will be required to send in the registration fee of $300.00. This fee is non-refundable (unless the course is canceled). 3. On the first day of class $300.00 is due 4. On the seventh class $350.00 is due
REIMBURSEMENT SCHEDULE: (if a student drops out): To be discussed during the first day of class PARKING: To be announced SMOKING: Under state law, there is no smoking. REMEMBER: Do not send any money with your application. Applications are due by: Lowell - January 10, 2008 Salem - January 18, 2008

Also if you prefer to play with the big boys, you can always call Capt. Kent Scarna at Boston EMS. He does a couple of classes a year but I do not know the cost, dates, or specific location. Good luck

If you go to the Mass OEMS web site and click on the link for "Accredited Training Institutions" it will provide you with a list of every program in the state & which levels of certification (Basic,Intermediate,Paramedic) that they offer. Hope this helps and if you want or need any more info, feel free to PM me.
