Somerset - Police arrested the pastor of Grace Bible Church Tuesday night on motor vehicle violations including a charge of operating under the influence of alcohol. It’s the second such arrest for the Rev. Robert R. McLaughlin, 54, 841 Lees River Ave., Somerset. McLaughlin, whose church is located on County Street at the West end of the Brightman Street Bridge, was arrested at approximately 8:55 p.m. Tuesday on Route 6. According to police, McLaughlin made a turn from Brayton Avenue onto Route 6 without using a signal and began travelling west on Route 6. Stopped for the signal infraction, McLaughlin was arrested on the drunken driving charge as well as on charges of operating negligently or recklessly so as to endanger, marked lanes violation, failure to signal, failure to wear a seat belt, failure to stop for police and operating a motor vehicle after suspension of license. McLaughlin was released on personal recognizance and was arraigned Wednesday in Fall River District Court.
