The Corporal is to support the Sergeant in maintaining shift order and compliance with departmental policies and procedures. He/She acts in place of the Sergeant in their absence. The Corporal as a senior Patrol Officer is to be a good example to other officers and to provide appropriate guidance in patrol procedure and officer safety. He/She is to be actively involved in the Departments community policing initiatives.
Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree with experience in law enforcement is preferred. Computer and software skills in word processing, databases and office applications such as email, voicemail are preferred. Must have and maintain a Massachusetts driver license, Fire Arms Identification Card and the ability to obtain and maintain Massachusetts State Police license in accordance with Massachusetts General Law Chapter 22Cs63. Applicants must have attended and successfully completed a Massachusetts Police Academy or an equivalent out of state police academy. The Director of Public Safety and or his/her designee may require additional licenses and certifications in the future. Further more you must be able to successfully complete a pre-employment background investigation and testing.
