A US staff sergeant will face a court-martial on charges stemming from the deaths of 24 Iraqis in Haditha in 2005, the US Marine Corps has announced. Staff Sergeant Frank Wuterich, 27, will stand trial on charges of voluntary manslaughter, aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, dereliction of duty and obstruction of justice. The commanding general in the case, Lieutenant General Samuel Helland, dismissed charges of unpremeditated murder, soliciting another to commit an offence and making a false official statement.
