Campus Police Officer I


A Campus Police Patrol Officer position (CPO 1) is available in the Campus Police Department. We seek an experienced officer to provide flexible, responsive, and high quality community policing. Duties include: patrol campus buildings, grounds, and properties owned by Framingham State College. Enforce State Laws, College policies, rules, & regulations; investigates accidents and complaints; prepares concise and complete reports; handle confidential and sensitive information; ability to exercise clear quick thinking in emergencies and perform related work as required. Candidates must be willing to work nights, weekends, and report for duty at any time when emergencies arise.

Candidates must have completed High School, valid Massachusetts driver’s license, ability to obtain Massachusetts Class ‘A’ firearms permit, must pass a vigorous background check and other evaluations. Applicant must be eligible for appointment as a Special State Police Officer under Chapter 22C, Section 63. The selected candidate must successfully complete the Special State Police Basic Recruit Academy to remain in the position. Graduates of the SSPO or Municipal Police Academy are preferred.

Salary: $589.45before training and $612.73 weekly after training plus excellent fringe benefits.

Good step in the door, probably lots of OT and plenty of campus details, i dont thing FPD allows them to work details in the city with no guns. Maybe once armed they'll work outside too.
