Must be 18 or older; a U.S. Citizen; possess valid operator's license; possess Bachelor's Degree preferably in Criminal Justice or Law Enforcement by June 30th, 2005. Applications available at Smithfield Police Department, 215 Pleasant View Avenue, Smithfield, Rhode Island. Application forms will be mailed to out-of-state residents and are also available on Department website www.smithfieldpd.com Completed applications must be returned to the police department by 4:00 p.m. on Monday, 3/7/05. Previous candidates must reapply. Recruitment and selection process takes approximately five months. Salary while attending the police academy is $630 per week. EEO
