A Dorchester teen who survived being kidnapped and sexually brutalized as a child yesterday suffered the humiliation of being cross-examined by the alleged serial predator on trial for raping her. Moonie Moses, 35, is defending himself against charges he abducted and raped three females in the summer of 2002 while a newlywed father of a toddler son. He told jurors he’s “ready to put down his life” to prove he’s innocent. Free of shackles, the journeyman Perry Mason grilled the girl about her clothing choices, weight and her mother’s parenting skills. Moses, who admitted he was enrolled in a batterer’s program when the frightening attacks occurred, allegedly forced the then 13-year-old into his wife’s car in Dorchester the night of July 18, 2002. He allegedly told her he had a gun and then raped her twice while assailing her with sexist epithets. The alleged victim, now 18 and a mother of two, testified yesterday Moses asked her out on a date, then gave her $10 after assaulting her. “I told him I’m no prostitute, but I took it anyway and gave it to police,” the teen, who at times was too emotionally distraught to speak, told prosecutor Leora Joseph, deputy chief of the Suffolk District Attorney’s Office Child Abuse Unit. “He was asking me, ‘Don’t you want a man like me to take care of you?’ ” she said. “I said, ‘My mom can take care of me. I just want my mom.’ ” The teen pointed Moses out in court as the man who raped her. Joseph told the predominantly female jury, “The facts in this case are going to speak for themselves.” In the absence of heat in Suffolk Superior Court Judge Margaret Hinkle’s courtroom, the jury endured hours of testimony wearing coats, hats and gloves. Two more of Moses’ alleged victims are also expected to testify while Moses tries to destroy their credibility. They are a girl, 15 on Sept. 16, 2002, who was kidnapped and repeatedly raped, and a woman, 32 on Sept. 23, 2002, who escaped while being raped and memorized the car’s license plate. Like the 13-year-old, Moses allegedly approached the 15-year-old on Park Street in Dorchester. Prosecutors say he told her he had a gun and “would not go home tonight” if she didn’t sexually satisfy him. Also, that if she didn’t give him her address “he would take off all of her clothes and leave her naked on the street.” The oldest alleged victim, Joseph said, “was walking to work in pouring rain” without an umbrella the morning of Sept. 23, 2002, when Moses offered her a ride. She accepted, only to be grabbed by the hair, called degrading names and raped, Joseph said. In addition to picking Moses out of a photo lineup after police traced the license plate to his Dorchester address, all three alleged victims described seeing a child’s booster seat in the back of the car they were raped in. Prosecutors never recovered a firearm.
Any judge who would allow this should be kicked off the bench with no further comment.

Sadly he has a right to defend himself. See what these victims go through when they go psycho because of the past sexual abuse is no justice at all for the victims.
A twisted 35-year-old sex fiend who represented himself at his own trial was convicted of a series of gut-churning attacks between July and September 2002 against a woman with cerebral palsy and two teenage girls, one of whom was just 13 at the time. “He got what he deserved,” a victim of one of his brutal attacks, now 18, told the Herald. “It’s a little overwhelming.” A Suffolk Superior Court jury deliberated two days before finding Moonie Moses of Dorchester guilty of five counts of rape of a child with force, three counts of kidnapping and a single count of aggravated rape. He faces a possible sentence of five consecutive life terms in jail. Moses was linked to all three attacks through DNA evidence and victim identification, prosecutors said. During the trial, the women were forced to face Moses in court, where he acted as his own lawyer. The 13-year-old victim, now 18, choked back rage as the man who, after raping her in July 2002 handed her a $10 bill as he dropped her off, stood in court five years later and cross-examined her. “I was thinking, ‘How does he get the guts to stand up and actually speak to me after what he did,’ ” she said. “I thought he was crazy . . . I was thinking, ‘Can I just get up and slap him?’ I was angry, but I kept my cool.” Prosecutors said Moses committed a string of abductions and rapes beginning in July 2002, all of them centered around Park Street in Dorchester. The first victim was the now 18-year-old, who was walking on Park Street when Moses pulled next to her in his wife’s car, told her he had a gun, ordered her to get in, then attacked her. “He dropped me off on the corner of Park and Adams,” she said. “He wanted to meet me the next day at KFC. He handed me a $10 bill. I took it, and I gave it to police as part of the evidence. He was asking me, ‘Don’t you want a man like me to take care of you?’ ” Two separate attacks followed, but the final victim managed to see Moses’ license plate number, which led police to his door.
I give that victim, a lot of credit, she had the balls to testify against him, and put up with his Perry Mason BS.

Moses during opening statements in mid-December. By John R. Ellement, Globe Staff A Dorchester man will spend at least 30 years in prison for raping two teenagers and a woman in Dorchester between July and September 2002. Moonie Moses, 35, was convicted of a number of charges, including rape of a child with force, aggravated rape, and kidnapping. Suffolk Superior Court Judge Margaret Hinkle today sentenced him to two consecutive life sentences and other terms to be served concurrently. The sentence means that Moses won't be eligible for parole for at least 30 years, she said. Moses, who represented himself in the trial, sobbed in a five-minute speech to the court, insisting on his innocence and predicting he would not live long if sentenced to prison. "On my way to heaven, I will tell everybody I know that I did not commit these crimes," he said. But as she sentenced Moses, Hinkle said, "This is not a case where there is a significant question in my mind whether the defendant committed the crimes for which he stands convicted." Moses' representation of himself had created an unusual spectacle during the trial: the defendant cross-examining his victims. Rosa J. Gonzalez, 18, who was 13 when she was kidnapped and raped by Moses, attended the sentencing hearing. She said she was pleased with the sentence and considered Moses "a pathological liar" for his continued claims of innocence. She said that when she took the witness stand during the trial and faced Moses she had to struggle to control her emotions. "I wanted to lash out at him," she said. "I wanted to strangle him with my own hands." She said she had not let the attack keep her from living her life. She noted that today she celebrated the first birthday of one of her daughters. Her other daughter is 3.
anyway.. that is a messed up story and the guy should hang.
