I don't work for any of these places, but based on the starting yearly salary, UMass Amherst has a pay of 17.65/HR and I know UMass Lowell is like 33 and some change yearly, so that is like 15.80/HR. Nice list that you have created, very helpful in getting an overall picture of pay.

Posted by: WaterPistola

you guys should make a chart and make it into an image and post it on here

Thanks, but I can't take credit for it. Somebody made it in the past and posted it. It is just a little old and I wanted to see if everybody could help to keep it current.

PM sent with proper pay rate

Posted by: JMB1977

the Holy Cross pay is correct. Once hired they will give incentive raises for certain training. I still feel that Holy Cross is still under payed compared to other campus departments.

Posted by: biggun128

Boston College is $25.25 with no shift differential or EMT incentive. Not sure about starting rate.

Posted by: sgt128-13

WNEC is up to 16.58 ($34,500) post-academy. Cost of living + merit raises.

Posted by: Kilvinsky

Current contract at Harvard:

Starting-19.12
Maximum-26.97 (after 2 years)

evening shift differential is 1.10/hr.
night shift differential is 1/15/hr.

contract expires 07/31/08

Posted by: Ltscott

Emerson is 18.00+ to 22.00+ per hour depending on experience

Posted by: CRASHPD

Emerson College

New Starting rate is anywhare from $15 an hour up to $22 an hour depending on years of expereince. In our case, years of experience with Boston PD. These guys are coming in are at Approx $22.

Posted by: K.Lavoie

Dean College pay rate is now 13-14 hr starting with 3% raise annually.

Posted by: HELPMe

Did Emerson get a new contract? As of a year ago I heard starting pay was 13.41 plus shift differential.

Would they all be assigned as detectives or sergeants by chance? give 'em time. It's no different when troopers take over.

Posted by: CRASHPD

No new contract. The union attempt was given up on after several years at stalemate. So starting with no expereince was upped to 1500 hr and up to 22 hr (with max expereince I.E. 10 plus years). Evening shift 5 percent DIF with Mids at 8 percent! No detective position or sergeants for these guy. But if they are coming in at 22 hr which is close to the starting rate for a Sergeant at Emerson, why would they want the added responsiblity? Especially when they are getting their pentions ontop of that. All the Boston guys I've been working with for the past year have been great. Dont get me wrong they are set in their ways but do understand the services we have to provide working in a campus setting. So may everybody enjoy the rest of the holiday season, I for one am already sick of it, along with the digging out of my dam car! (Snow Plow Driver) Stay safe and to next time!!!!

WOW what a stupid thread, people can't find anything else a little more interesting to talk about.

Posted by: union1

Even looking in on the outside thats such a cock assed lame brained idea to pay people... how F*ing stupid it sounds. Well, I guess its a great way to pad the pensions of old people.

Scott or Eric really need to take over.

Ok, this should be interesting; I'm actually the Zodiac Killer from the 70s. I was young at the time so I was a bit sloppy, but I've gotten better and now I'll never get caught.

Oh, this should also be interesting; I have found a cure for the common cold, but I refuse to share it since I have stock in all the major drug companies and would lose money.

Lastly, I HOPE this is more interesting; I wear a size 11 shoe! WOW!

How's that?

hee hee hee hee

I could definately see the value in knowing what other departments are making. IT could make or break a decision to apply for a certain dept. or it could come in handy when going to the table for contract negotiations.

I find it VERY interesting, countryboy, that you check in on what's been added to this thread if it's so boring. I find YOU fascinating. Freud would have a field day with you.

As for our restrooms, well, since you brought them up, the ones in the locker rooms are great. Nice, clean and with showers. (I can only guess about the woman's locker room, the swipe cards of the male officers don't work in the card reader of the woman's locker room. DAMN!) The one in the booking room is basic and unisex. Oh, and Handicapped accessible. Hey, it only makes sense, why have more than one toilet in the booking room and you never know when you're going to lock up a quadriplegic.

Now, as for the ones on the 6th floor, well, there's a men's room, a woman's room and a single seater handicapped bathroom that's to DIE for! Sadly, the men's room was a little stinky last time I used it. Seems the urinal cakes are NOT doing the job. I'd have to give it 2 out of 5 stars.

I hope that satisfied your strange interests. Keep posting though, I bet in no time we'll all be able to read you like a book!

Hey, you're not Chrome.dome back from banishment, are you? LMAO

I guess when you're in the country you've got nothing better to do than read posts that you find to be stupid and un intersting.

Kilivinsky, I heard that effective 2008, you guys at Harvard were getting bathroom attendants. I Knew I should've applied there, lol.

Sadly, that's not the case. We will provide attendance for President Faust (pronounced FOST) however. The plus is, it doesn't fall under DIGNITARY PROTECTION and will be open to all patrolmen as a detail. I can't wait for my first chance to offer her a spritz of Old Spice to freshen up. Ka-CHING!

My home bathroom is to die for, if I can just get the little old lady stop yelling at me for leaving the seat up. But between me and all of you I do it on purpess just to piss her off. This is my guilty plessure countryboy!!!!!!!!!!!

Here's something more interesting Countryboy...

The cow you've been milking is actually a bull.

Stonehill is 19.51 going to 20.29 in July. dif is .50 for weekends and 1.00 for nights. Starting rate is slightly lower till probation is over, then goes to the 19.51.

Posted by: Kilvinsky

Is the rumor about Stonehill and firearms true?

That's a beautiful campus and a fantastic location. It sure changed since I first visited Chief Jim Best there several years ago, but always stayed beautiful. Any word on you guys getting bigger quarters. You've been in the same building for centuries and I'm sure need more room. Does seem like a really good department.

Posted by: mikeyd1313

I am very suprised at the pay differences. I worked at a hospital where the base salary was much better than most of those, Plus $2.50 for 2nd shift, $4.00 for third shift, and $2.50 on top of that on the weekend. So, if your base salary was $18.00 hr, on 3rd shift weekend you would make $24.50 hr. Not bad for hospital security.

UMassMemorial Medical Center 119 Belmont St, Worcester. Memorial/ Hahneman Campus. Not the State property on Belmont/ Lake Ave. Best differential I've seen. Combined with the 75 cent raise to the base pay in the new union contract (now up to about a whopping $15.75 hr.for a new-hire), no need to smoke pole in the garage for extra dough.
