Drag Racing under 90-17B is now a criminal offense.

2 1/2 yr misdemeanor $1000 fine.

1st offense minimum 30 day license suspension
2nd or subsequent minimum 180 day license suspenion

they do it every friday and saturday night during the spring ans summer right outside our main gate.

Drag racing in Springfield, MA was criminal for years. I think the city passed an ordenance that was challenged in appeals court and the town won. It was in my 2002 or 2003 In service class.

The Springfield law also gave the powers to MSP and was passed by the state legislature. There was no jail sentence involved but did allow for the confiscation of vehicles.

It's about time that they started attempting to crack down on that. Although it does come down to darwinism if they are stupid enough to get out there in their P.O.S rice burners with the coffee can mufflers and rap them selves around a tree then oh well survival of the fittest and or smartest, just as long as they don't hurt anyone else in the process that is.
