I carry this for now. Switching to Sig 226 DAK next week!! I don't mind the SW and I do like the double/single trigger setup.

My personal gun is the Sig P238 double/single.

Suffolk County changed over to Glocks last year. think we're the only department carrying revolvers ( well , except for Boston Specials aka World Security )

Revolvers are actually better in an environment where the personnel don't regularly carry, and have to leave the weapons there. Even a poorly maintained, filthy S&W K-frame is going to fire and keep firing when you squeeze the trigger.

You tell em Delta! I've been trying to tell em here in masscopsland for years! I recently went back to carrying a Smith M-13 3" roundbutt off-duty. All the young bucks where I work think I'm a crazy old fag for doing so.

Speaking of K-frames, don't forget to tell everyone you know about my 5" model 10 for sale. At the very least somebody should buy it to whack chief crow-bar over the head!

Posted by: pahapoika

haven't seen the new guns, maybe we'll keep the .38's

I have a special place in my heart for revolvers; I'm going to pass down my old Model 10 to my son when he's old enough, and hopefully he'll do the same. I'm still kicking myself for trading my Model 60 to my brother for a Colt Combat Commander, although I probably got the better end of that trade.

Agree 100% with you on the revolvers. Your son will thank you some day I'm sure. I have a Model 58 M&P in .41 Magnum nickel unfired put away for my little guy.
As far as the trade with your brother goes...You know you can always find another 60, but that Combat Commander is a much rarer bird

We carried the S&W Sigma .40 for many years. We went over to the Glock mod 22 .40 a few years back. The Sigma used to bite my hand every time I shot it. There is a slight angle difference in the grip which makes all the difference in the world. The Glock is much friendlier. We all carry a Rem. 870 locked in the cruiser and lots of guys, once qualified, carry a rifle of there choice.

Posted by: BB-59

GLOCK 23 on duty.

S&W airweight as backup and off duty.

Really? You think so? I would have expected Taurus and High Point to be at the forefront!!

Posted by: charger

Our department uses Glock 22 .40 cal. By last statistics Glock has 75 to 80 percent of all law enforcement sales in the United States. Good solid gun for its purpose in law enforcement basically what it was design for. Tough, low maintenance, easy to teach on esspecially when transitioning from a revolver to auto, ok trigger pull and good accuracy. Someone mentioned Taurus and was surprised they were not higher in the LE market. Taurus good gun for the money, but they do not meet most LE finishing stands. Most of there firearms are manufactured and have minimal if not any finishing work done on them at the factory. Perfect example and anyone out here whos owned one. When you take a brand new one out of the box, they have very shape edges and require some shooting and a breakin period to gain reliability as stated in there manuals. Unlike say a Sig, Glock or Barretta which are good to go right out of the box. I own a couple Taurus guns and like i said good guns for the money.
