Hi everyone!

Just looking for lists and examples of laws...statuetes...cases....or anything of that matter outlining various protections of police officers that you feel are important.

Thanks

Meaning things like A&B on a public official?

Posted by: majorpayne

meaning like protections an officer has when performing duties that limit the risk of greivances being filed against the officer

Something like, as long as you arrested in good faith for a domestic assault and battery you cannot be held liable?

I think he is refering to an officer bill of rights. It hasn't happened in Mass, we try every year but it doesn't fly.

He stated one of the biggest myths....that we can't be sued for making a domestic arrest. One of my best friends went through 2 years of hell for doing just that; no injuries to anyone, just a "victim" who recanted and a city that didn't have the balls to aggressively defend the frivolous lawsuit to the end.

I think the 'victims' should then face charges of filing a false report - especially if the call came from the victim.

Same thing with women that request a restraining order, only to pursue contact with the guy...

I just re-read what I was shown on the topic and it says "personal injury or injury to property", so I guess if you break his arm you're OK but not ok about the arrest itself...
