Part-time Parking Enforcement Attendant


GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

The attendant will assist the public safety department in traffic control and the enforcement of college parking policies.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Reports to Director of Public Safety or other employees employed with the Department of Public Safety of higher grade.


SUPERVISION EXERCISED:
None.



DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Enforcement of parked vehicle violations for Quinsigamond Community College.
  2. Performs traffic control daily or when necessary to relieve traffic congestion.
  3. Assists disabled motorists and service related motor vehicle lockouts/jumpstarts.
  4. Provides general campus information to the public.
  5. Follows departmental policies and appropriate laws.
  6. Notifies shift supervisors of tasks requiring his/her attention and of all emergency situations.
  7. Occasionally may remain at the communication desk in the event of all emergency situations.
  8. May be asked on occasion to work a weekend or alternate work hours.
  9. Actively supporting the teaching and learning process; work to create and support a student-centered environment.
  10. Working actively with other areas of the College to ensure a spirit of college-wide collaboration, collegiality, civility, and teamwork.
  11. Embracing and supporting the principle that "diversity is everybody's business" through the daily performance of duties and responsibilities.
  12. Providing flexible, responsive and high quality customer service to all whom we serve, be they students, community or staff and continuously assessing processes and procedures to revise accordingly.
  13. Attend required trainings.
  14. Performing other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Customer service experience.
  2. Employment experience requiring detailed documentation.
  3. Physical ability to stand and work for long periods

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  2. Experience in higher education.
  3. Experience doing same or similar work.
  4. First Responder/CPR Certified.


SALARY/HOURS:
$12 per hour (not to exceed 975 hours per year). Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Fall and Spring Terms.
