NEW YORK — New York police are looking for two people involved in a hit-and-run crash that injured two officers early yesterday.
Police said two officers assigned to the 33rd Precinct in Washington Heights responded to a call of an accident on the West Side Highway near 158th Street about 7 a.m.
One officer was in front of the patrol car and the other was inside when another vehicle hit the patrol car. The crash pushed the cruiser into the officer standing in front of it, causing minor injuries. The officer inside the vehicle also suffered minor injuries.
Both suspects jumped from their vehicle and fled on foot, police said.
The officers were treated and released from a hospital a short time later.
Police did not release a description of the suspects or the vehicle.
