I was just told by a buddy from Nashua that this just happened. anybody else confirm?

Yeah because they got a deal on the M&P and the sigs, although neat rifles are not in the game anymore they had the SIG 551/2's. and S&W did a deal of deals on the M&P and trade.

HA!
leave it to my gun guru buddy to speak the truth.

The Department of Safety traded the Sig 229's for the M&P 45. All Department of Safety officers now have the M&P's.

Ohh I thought you were talking about the rifles. Yeah the pistols too.

I heard from one of my departments back home who tested them said that they were POS's

NHSP did get rid of there Sig P-220 Stainless Pistols. From what I was told NHSP was having problems with the guns rusting and parts breakage with the mag Disconnect. NHSP specified a gun with a magazine disconect. SIg made the P-220s with this ,but the guns were breaking parts. When the part would break it would make the gun inoperable. Sig redesigned the part in question, but by then NHSP was tainted and started looking for a new weapon. Prior to Sig they had Smiths and liked them, so S&W capitalized on this and ultimately got the new contract. In the fall I was at a class at Sig and from what I was told they advised NHSP not to put a diconect in the 220's.

Well, well nothing like first hand knowledge

The M&P's are much lighter. Some people like 'em some miss the Sigs. I just like putting lead down range with whatever they give me.

My department carries the stainless P220 .45 I like the gun, and I go to the range every weekend. Never had any issues with anything breaking... what the hell where they using their weapons for? Door stoppers? Wish they went to a P229 DAK .357 Sig SXT, now thats a superior firing weapon. Then again, as long as its not Glock and Baretta, Im pretty satisfied.

Two ugliest pistols ever made next to anything Ruger did!

Glock may be ugly but the damn thing fires everytime I squeeze the trigger.

Yeah, sure, just because you haven't had problems with yours means that we must have been mistreating ours. That's a pretty dumb thing to say given that you apparently plan on interviewing with us in the near future...

By the way, Sig acknowledged that the problems we had with our 220's were a design problem with the lever that pushes the firing pin safety out of the way, as well as with the plastic takedown lever. They attempted to fix the problem twice, to no avail. So we went elsewhere.

I have put 1,000 rounds through my own M&P .40 and never had a misfire or it stove pipe on me which from what I hear at my range is a common problem with the M&P....

Anybody know what holster NHSP have for there M&P's i've tried to find one but had no luck....
