While I have been sitting here working on a project for class, the topic being that attacks of 9/11 I asked myself how many others having been living in a fog actually thinking that the attacks on September 11th were a terrorist plot carried out by 19 Arab terrorists who alone outfoxed the mighty U.S. military.

I have heard throughout the years from mainstream media of random sporadic reports that 9/11 was a government conspiracy but dismissed it as soon as I heard it. Needless to say after reviewing a vast amount of information my opinion that the attacks on the World Trade Center were a terrorist plot have changed.

Maybe due to the fact that the events that day did not dirrectly affect me I paid little attention and went along for years with the theory that bad ass Bin Ladin was the one responsible.

I am interested what the members of MassCops feel about what went down that day.

As I sat on the Jersey shore watching the second plane hit and the towers come down,
I could not imagine that it could not be any thing but a terriost attack.
Two days later at the site it confirmed it,there is no way that it could have been
anything but that.
I have read all of the wacko reports and their findings and there is no way it
could ever change my mind.
I also lost two friends that were on the plane and that firms it up even more.
As bad as politics are in this country I don't see any part of the US Goverment
doing something like this to their own people.

Ive heard all the concpiracy theories, especially as relates to "bringing down " building 7...calling it a controlled drop. Ive been around construction and destruction for years. It takes YEARS of planning and months of prepations to demolish a building. NONE of which would be hidden from public view. Were talking about a govt that cant wipe its ass without someone leaking it. Here you would have to quiet THOUSANDS of people....not gonna happen.
It comes down to some turds having all the breaks go there way and people on planes sheepishly cowering while it happened (one exception that we know of was the plane in Pa).

I think for every ten scientist or so called experts that think this was a conspiracy you'll find ten that disagree. I believe there is a general mistrust of the government now and this conspiracy thing has gained a head of steam. I am not the type of person to sit here and believe everything is preached to me by the press/government. I have looked at the evidence of both sides and conclude one thing..No matter how many experts, lawyers, scientist put their spin on what happened I am going on what saw with my own two eyes over and over again..Terrorist attacked us on 9/11/01.

All this conspiracy stuff was laid to rest by the editors of Popular Mechanics. They have published a book addressing the issue point-by-point (I gave it to my dad last Christmas, cause, like, he listens to Art Bell's old show and I wanted to nip that nonsense in the bud). It would be nearly impossible to overcome the logistical and secrecy issues. This is just a red herring of the left and a direct sign of Bush Derangement Syndrome (BDS). It's right up there with anthropomorphic gorebal warming...

In any event, the book is available at Amazon and is a quick read.

First off I am definitely not part of any militia, I am not a left wing liberal or a conspiracy nut. I am as some of you know a conservative republican but it does not mean that I can't question information brought to light. It was merely a question, there are many family members of the victims questioning what actually happened as well. Many who have started or are members of the many 911 related websites, action groups etc... demanding that a more complete investigation be conducted.

While I have been searching the net, reading articles, books and watching documentaries for information on both sides of the story it made me ask myself what the people on this board think. It was not my intention to offend anyone who may or may not have been affected by this tragedy. My apologies to those of you who I did offend.

No intervention is needed, people are entitled to their own opinions based on information they have researched (although a trip to the Foxy might be in order anyway)

Gil, no need to defend yourself........ I told you I respect your opinion, as crazy as it may seem to me. Having been in the military and having spent 18 months on active duty after 9/11, I guess maybe I just don't wanna believe that we were all ordered there by the same people who you think killed all those American people........ I spent time in three different South-West Asian countries and spoke with ALOT of VERY VERY smart local people. NOT ONE of them believed that anyone besides OSAMA had anything to do with 9/11...........

I think what it is Gil is we. as a species...want answers to every question.Its hard to believe that 19 deranged fanatics caused all that damage.If someone had suggested the scenario the day before, he wouldve been labeled a nut! Alot of us have lost friends either from the attack itself or the subsequent combat operations so we all want answers . We will never have all the answers AND THAT IS THE HARD PART TO ACCEPT.

Nobody is seditiously purporting that our government carried-out 9/11 are they? Even so, thinking outside the box is certainly not a crime...

However, as a God-fearing, Country-Loving Patriot, and Republican Conservative myself... I wouldn't want to crucify the voice of dissension either.

Pearl Harbor and 9/11 were no more planned and executed by our own government as much as I believe they may have negligently been allowed to happen as a result of fractionized, compartmentalized and proprietized enemy information from both the intelligence and military communities in both 1941 and 2001.

Then again, this ain't the Smith College vs. Amherst College winter debate club either... did someone say road trip?

This all came up after pearl harbor too, did people know it was comming. Maybe the question is should we have know pearl harbor was coming, should we have known 9-11 was coming. I don't think we could have known the exact time, manner and place. As for inside job I don't think anything that big could be kept secret.

They tried it in 1993, and came back to finish it. Two people can't keep a secret, never mind the hundreds that would've had to be involved.
All the feds and cops that lost their brothers that day were on scene to investigate. They wouldn't let a group of home grown conspirators off that easy. Besides, Hillary, Kennedy, and Kerry wouldn't let the republicans get away with it. I agree with Wolf. Terrorist activity exploited by politicians.

What I do question though, did we really go to the Moon?

Perhaps it is human nature but some simply refuse to believe that there are simple explanations for extraordinary events. Every assasination or world event has to be the result of a vast and complex conspiracy. I will not resort to a personal attack but respectfully Gil, to use your words, it is you who are in "a fog".

For argument's sake, lets adhere to the assinine philosophy that the US government had a hand in 9/11. 7+ years have now passed...no one has come forward to tell of their role in the conspiracy to mass murder 3000+ Americans. No deathbed confessions, no confessions brought on by the guilt of wiping out 3000 human beings. Such a conspiracy would require the involvement of HUNDREDS of people yet there has been ZILCH evidence as far as their involvement (the internet wackjob theories not withstanding). NO CIA, FBI or NSA people have come forward or raised their suspicions...I guess they're in on the vast conspiracy as well.

What would be the US government's motive for 9/11? The Iraq War? The US was able to plan, finance and execute a massive scale, incredibly complex operation with pinpoint precision yet simply forgot to manufacture a 'smoking gun' that would definitively implicate Iraq? Such theories defy logic.

Muslim terrorists from Saudi Arbia and Egypt carried out the attack at the behest and financial backing of Osama Bin Laden. Osama Bin Laden was seen on tape giddily admitting his role in the attacks. OBL has made other taped statements about bombing US embassies in Africa. There is a MOUNTAIN of evidence in this regard while there is NOTHING but baseless conjecture to support the mother of all conspiracies theories.

It may not be a sexy enough explanation for the conspiracy hobbyists but it is the plain truth- please deal with it.

I don't know what happened leading up to the attacks, whether the FBI had any info regarding the possiblity of an attack or not. I am however sure that the government wasn't behind the attacks.
I have also watched all the videos and read some of what I could stomach of the 9/11 truth people put out there and think it is bogus. Terrorists attacked the wtc and the pentagon and caused flight 93 to go down not our government.

9/11 was not an inside job. 9/11 was the work of terrorists. I believe the USG did it's best to protect this Nation... I am upset to see you asking the question Gil... I would have thought you above such foolishness. As someone who was in the military at the time our brother and sister soldiers, airmen, sailors and Marines were murdered at the Pentagon, while thousands of civilians were murdered in PA and at the Twin Towers, while hundreds of police and fire professionals were murdered at the Twin Towers... I am offended everytime I hear someone claim that the US Government was behind this mass murder.

I agree with you Gil, living on the other side of the world from the event. I really do not want to think that these yo yo's can just come into the country and do such a terrible thing. Since the event I have learned that in Oregon, Portland has a large Muslim following and that an Al Quaida traing camp was located just a few miles from my home.

Many lefties hate the USA. They hate the fact that Bush beat Gore. They blame Bush for everything bad that happens. If Clinton/Gore had done more to take out Bin Laden then maybe 911 could have been stopped. In the age of YOUTUBE one can just put together a video which states there is a conspiracy and a bunch of dumba&^#$ will be believe it. Many lefties state that Bush and the oil companies are responsible for 911. They seem so willing to let Islam off the hook. I strongly believe that MUSLIM EXTREMISTS were responsible for 911 and will be responsible for future attacks in the USA as well. MUSLIM EXTREMISTS have no conscience.
