PLYMOUTH - Police say Michael Morin Jr. picked the wrong gas station to rob. He worked there.
Morin, 26, of 62 Alden St. in Plymouth, was arrested Monday on suspicion of armed robbery, larceny over $250, and threatening to commit a crime.
Morin worked at Route 44 Gas on Samoset Street. He went to the station Sunday, approached a co-worker who knew him and asked for cigarettes, police said.
Morin then claimed to have a gun and demanded money while threatening his shocked and shaken colleague, police said.
Police issued a warrant for Morin’s arrest and found him to 26 Knight’s Point Road in Plymouth about 1:30 p.m. Monday after receiving a tip that his car was there.
He surrendered without incident.
Police say Morin closed Route 44 Gas early on Friday. The owner returned to find the station closed and money missing, police said. Morin was not charged in connection with the missing money.
