TAUNTON— A week after an arrest warrant was issued for Timothy Cassidy, the murder suspect is still at large.

“He's a tough one to find thus far,” said Gregg Milliote, a spokesman for Bristol County District Attorney Sam Sutter.

Cassidy, 38, is wanted in connection with the slaying of James Madonna, 44, on Nov. 21 in the Myles Standish Industrial Park parking lot.

Cassidy was questioned by police, but disappeared before a scheduled polygraph test, according to the Web site for the national television program “America's Most Wanted.”

Police issued a bulletin for Cassidy on Nov. 23 and obtained an arrest warrant on Nov. 26.

New details in the case emerged on the “America's Most Wanted” Web site, where Cassidy's picture is now posted.

The Web site says Cassidy and Madonna, both of Taunton, were “good friends.” The shooting occurred as the two got into their cars and Cassidy pulled out a gun and shot Madonna several times, according to the Web site.

Authorities said a report that the two may have been playing cards at a nearby location before the shooting is a “possibility.”

Madonna was the married father of two. His body was found in his car.

Cassidy works for Tedeschi Food Shops of Rockland. He was last seen in a gray Toyota Camry registered to Tedeschi's, authorities said.

Milliote declined Monday to say if investigators were on Cassidy's trail. He said he was unaware if the car Cassidy was driving had been found.

“He's got a lot of connections in a lot of places,” Milliote said.
Cassidy has a home in Starks, Maine, and connections in Texas and Georgia, according to authorities.
