OKLAHOMA CITY — Oklahoma police are asking the public to help them search Wednesday for a 20-year-old pregnant woman missing since Nov. 23 after they determined the body of a woman found Tuesday by a prayer group was not the mother-to-be. Bethany, Okla., police have asked volunteers to meet them at the police station Wednesday morning to aid a search around a park where Lauren Barnes' car was found Sunday, NewsOK.com reported. Barnes, five months pregnant and requiring blood thinner medication, was last seen on Nov. 23. She failed to meet up with friends that night.
On Tuesday morning, a youth group holding a prayer service near Lake Overholser found the body of a woman, a few miles from where Barnes' car was found. The body was not that of Barnes, Sgt. Paco Balderrama said. The cause of death for unidentified woman was unknown and was being treated as a homicide. Balderrama said the dead woman appeared to be between 45 to 55 years old. Anyone with information about Barnes' whereabouts is asked to call Bethany, Okla., police at 405-789-2323.
