POLICE CAMPUS POLICE OFFICER TRAINEE
The University of Rhode Island's Office of Human Resource Administration is currently accepting applications for anticipated vacancies in its Police Department for 2005. (The object is to establish a list of qualified individual from which appointments can be made. These positions are limited until completion of academy.) *Duties: Acquire training, both formal and on the job, in order to perform duties of a patrolling, protective and both formal and on the job, in order to perform duties of a patrolling, protective and policing nature; do related work as required. These are limited positions at the URI Kingston campus. Shifts and days off to be determined. Hourly rate: $11.58-$11.97. REQUIRED: high school diploma; experience gained through considerable employment in a responsible full-time position requiring maintenance of law and order, and the protection of life and property, or any equivalent combination; valid RI driver's license. Interested individuals will be required to complete medical, physical and psychological exams after conditional offer of employment, and to satisfactorily acquire First Responder Certification from the State Health Department within 6 months of appointment as a Campus Police Officer. After completion of required elements, a list will be compiled based on seniority. (All individuals hired will be required to successfully complete the RI Municipal Police Academy in order to be promoted to a Campus Police Officer.) RI residency within six months required.
