Anyone have any experience with these NH departments? I see all these NH departments are hiring and they state you need to pass the physical agility test however there is no description of it. Is it the typical 1.5run, situps, pushups, bf... or is it an obstacle course? Finally has anyone taking the Machintosh police exam, apparently it's given twice a year and seems to offer more of an opportunity then Mass civil service.

Any responses will be helpful, TY.

The written for Concord and some others is the NHTI Test given Dec 1st at Concord. Call New Hampshire Technical Institute for info a.s.a.p. The agility is petty standard statewide, bench press, push ups, sit ups, 1.5 mile run. Under state standards you will have to do the agility every three years during your tenure. The NHTI and McIntosh are both used by various departments (I think NHTI offers more towns in central NH, Merrimack Valley but some on seacoast) Some other towns, like Hampton, and the State give their own exam. The NHTI and McIntosh exams give participating towns the list from which to draw candidates for jobs as needed and up here that has been often as town as growing, departments are building and we are retiring.
