Does anyone know if they are going to put on a academy this coming spring?

Posted by: sgt128-13

My Chief told me the other day that there's another SSPO tentatively scheduled for the end of March '08; and, it will be in New Braintree. I think they took an informal poll at the last Chief's meeting and there were enough departments with recruit needs (about 30) to justify an academy next spring.

I heard from some co-workers that sspo 20 will be held sometime before summer of '08.

I hope its soon, I've been waiting...My PD wouldnt send me to eastern mass for the academy!

I heard with all the recruits going to the SSPO from Boston Universities new NEIDL Buildiing, they were going to host the SSPO in Boston at BU. This is what I heard and it is reliable!

Nate...your actually better off going to New Braintree for the SSPO...a much better experience between drill instructors and the recruits (i.e. alot more 1 on 1) lol

No front RMV plate and a blue line plate instead. Park it in the Commandant's spot too...

Good luck to anyone going.

The 19th is graduating Feb. 15th.

Won't the SSPO academy bump into the Muni academy scheduled for the end of april as well?

2 Academies at once?

Posted by: Sgt Jack

Even if it does...it shouldn't be a big deal as they've run the SSPO the same time as the RTT..

So, is it Boston or New Braintree?

Posted by: Sniper

THIS one is going to be in Old Braintree due to space limitations at the Academy.

The SPA is plenty big enough for the municipal academy and a SSPO class. The only thing will be the amount of DI's needed wich I am sure some Troopers wil be more than happy to help with the training...

Posted by: tango2

I heard the next SSPO Class is at the end of March begining of April the Muni in April and there might be an RTT in October.

Posted by: Hb13

Last I heard the municipal has been pushed back to May 5th, I don't know for sure when the next SSPO starts I think around the same time. God only knows when the next RTT is going to happen. Hopefully sooner than later I was flipping through docushare today and there has been around 50-60 (rough number) retirements since end of 12/07 and it's only february. They need to start trying to fill in the holes.

Nah, only after I recover from the No OT Winter Blues. I am 100% against another RTT

SinePari "Nah, only after I recover from the No OT Winter Blues. I am 100% against another RTT"
Understood don't blame you on that part
You shouldn't have to much to worry about for the near future even if they do decide to do another RTT they problably won't get on the road until early 09 the way they're going.
