Issue date: Tuesday, November 6, 2007 Term: Full-time, 40 hours per week Reports to: Director of Public Safety Description: The Public Safety Officer will provide basic safety and security duties including responding to emergency situations, patrolling campus buildings and grounds, responding to inquiries and requests for non-emergency service, investigating accidents and injuries, enforcing external laws and internal regulations, and assisting with programs to educate students, faculty and staff about personal safety. Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent and minimum of two years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Previous experience in campus public safety strongly preferred. Sound judgment and excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills are a must. Willingness and ability to work flexible and/or additional hours is essential. Valid driver's license and safe driving record required. Must be able to pass a background investigation and upon hire, must be able to obtain and retain authority as a "Special Police Officer". Salary: Public Safety Officer Grade
