Does anyone know of any department that has stipulations in their contract with the city/town that allow officers to get paid from their department while serving on active duty with the military?

Going somewhere Gil?

lol yeah.... have 11 or so months to get the contract worked out before I head off to warmer destinations...

Actually had one of the guys in my unit talking about this over the weekend, his department is going for it so I figured it would not hurt to do a little research and put it on the table. We'll see if the City of Attleboro backs their solders...

Romney had a bill. Military pay leave act 2003. Just google it. And it will tell you about it.Some towns do go by it. It was also updated in 2005.Good luck.

Danvers, through a recent Town Meeting, pays the difference in base salary only. Not in contract, but may be added.

Union dues are suspended also while active.

I was just recently called out of IRR and I am now serving in Iraq again. I am getting paid a percentage, keep my seniority and benefits. Basically I am there but not. Any other specific questions you can PM me.
