CONCORD, N.H. -- Youngsters are getting their chance to try deer hunting this weekend across New Hampshire. This weekend children under 16 can hunt without a license if they go with a licensed adult hunter. The adult is not allowed to carry a firearm or help other than supervise. Kent Gustafson of the Fish and Game Department says the weekend is intended to introduce young people to deer hunting while building bonds with their mentors.
amen to that! I cant wait until my son becomes my hunting buddy!

Masswildlife needs to come up with something like that. They have the youth waterfowl hunt but there aren't very many places to duck/goose hunt. And they wonder why the number of hunters has dropped in this state.

I remember my first deer hunting experience was on one of these weekends about 8 years ago.
