(WBZ) BOSTON Two New York men were arrested Wednesday night for allegedly selling counterfeit tickets to the World Series outside Fenway Park, and two others are accused of scalping tickets.

All four men pleaded not guilty at their arraignments in Boston Municipal Court Thursday morning and were banned from Fenway Park and Kenmore Square.

Jamel Bennett, 31, and 43-year-old Wendel Baker, both from the Bronx, were found with counterfeit World Series tickets valued at $1,500 when officers arrested them near Fenway Park Wednesday night, according to a police report.

Baker was charged Thursday with attempted ticket resale by owner, occupying a street for resale of tickets, peddling without license and possession of marijuana, according to the Suffolk County district attorney's office.

Bennett, 31, was charged with assault and battery on a police officer, resisting arrest, possession of marijuana and larceny over $250 stemming from counterfeit tickets.

A judge allowed Bennett and Baker to wait in a corridor of the courtroom during the arraignment so they could hide from the cameras.

Prosecutor Peter Moores said this isn't the first time Bennett and Baker have been accused of similar offenses.

"They have records in Florida, New York, Ohio, (and) New Jersey, many of which involve counterfeiting and forgery," Moores said. "The defendants came to Massachusetts to sell high-end tickets for a lot of money."

Police said the counterfeit tickets indicated they were for section 159 box 67.

Two other New York men are accused of trying to sell tickets to undercover officers. Michael Williams, 39, and 30-year-old Anthony Hicks, both from Albany, were charged with scalping tickets with face value of $150. They allegedly offered undercover police officers $300 a piece for the tickets. Both were released with no bail.

The four men are scheduled to appear again in court Nov. 14.

A local ticket seller, who was also in court Thursday facing scalping charges, told WBZ that local ticket sellers try to turn counterfeiters in because he said that really hurts the business of re-selling tickets on the streets.
