With all the bad press details have been getting I thought it might be beneficial to have a place were we can all post actions we have taken on details, such as shutting down usafe projects, arrests etc...
In Central Ma. August 07 Two local police officer while working a paid construction detail adjacent to a MBTA commuter rail station responded in less then two minutes to a report of a disturbance on a MBTA commuter train. The Officers separated the involved parties and allowed the train to depart with a minimal delay. The offender was arrested on two outstanding warrants as well as charged with Domestic Assault and battery. Had the Officers not been on a detail in the area the train would have been delayed for at least 20 minutes As the officers dispatched were approximately ten minutes away.

I'm not sure how many municipal departments have this, but SPAM has had detail incident forms for almost 20 years. If you are on a detail and react to anything (citations, crashes, assists) its filed and kept by SPAM. I encourage every agency to do this so when this issue comes up again and again, you can dump a pile of "reasons" on your local legislator's desk............
