CONCORD, N.H. -- Police said they have caught a robber who hit three banks in southern New Hampshire and escaped on a bicycle.
Robert Clark, 31, of Turner Falls, Mass., was in federal court Tuesday to answer to charges that he robbed banks in Keene, Wilton and Troy in the last five weeks. The Wilton robbery was at a bank on the Wilton-Milford line and initially had been reported as being in Milford.
Police said Clark was arrested last week on other charges after a wild chase in the Lakes Region in which he allegedly rammed several police cruisers.
Police affidavits said he admitted to the robberies and reported he buried the stolen money in a plastic bowl in Sanbornton. The affidavits said Clark told police he dumped guns in a swamp in Massachusetts.
