NEW BEDFORD — Three male teenagers were stabbed after leaving a house party at the Shawmut Village housing complex, New Bedford police spokesman Lt. Jeffrey Silva said.
Two of the victims were treated Sept. 28 at St. Luke's Hospital for serious but non-life-threatening stab wounds to their torsos. The third victim suffered a superficial leg wound, Lt. Silva said.
Police reports said the victims were assaulted by three juveniles who had earlier been denied access to the house party at 89 Pawnee Court, Lt. Silva said. The victims had just left the party and were walking at about 10:45 p.m. to the Westlawn housing development where they lived when they were jumped, Lt. Silva said.
A fourth juvenile who also said he was attacked after leaving the party later drove himself to a Fall River hospital. Lt. Silva said the he was treated for a small laceration above his eye.
Patrol officers investigating the incident found a 15-year-old with blood on his shirt and sneakers behind New Bedford High School, Lt. Silva said. The police brought him to the house party, where a victim identified him as one of the assailants.
The other two victims could not describe who attacked them, Lt. Silva said.
Police seized the bloody shirt and sneakers for testing, and released the juvenile without arresting him, Lt. Silva said.
