Video: 2 Stabbed On MBTA Train

BOSTON -- Police were searching for suspects Tuesday after a double stabbing inside an MBTA Red Line train station overnight.

NewsCenter 5's Gail Huff reported that the stabbing occurred just after midnight, and the victims were taken from the station at the Park Street stop.

Police said the two victims were transferring between the Green Line and Red Line platforms when a fight apparently broke out with three other individuals. Two knives were recovered from the scene.
The identities of the two victims were not known. One was said to have life-threatening injuries, with a stab wound to the stomach, and the other suffered less serious injuries.

MBTA police were looking for three suspects, two men and a woman, who fled the area after the stabbing.

Red line service was running on a normal schedule Tuesday morning.

BOSTON - The MBTA has released a wanted poster showing two men and a woman who are suspects in the stabbings of two South Shore men waiting for a Braintree-bound Red Line train at the Park Street station.

The victims, a 19-year-old Rockland man and a 20-year-old Abington man, were expected to recover from their wounds, which were not life-threatening. Both were stabbed in the stomach. Their identities have not been released.

The most seriously hurt of the two underwent exploratory surgery, T spokeswoman Lydia Rivera said.

One of the suspects is described as a white male 18 to 21 years old and 5 feet 10 inches or 5 feet 11 inches tall. He was wearing a red and white baseball cap, a red zippered sweatshirt over a red T-shirt with white lettering, blue jeans and white sneakers. MBTA police recovered the cap at the scene.

The second suspect is a white male 5 feet 7 inches or 5 feet 8 inches tall. He was wearing a white hooded sweatshirt and a white baseball cap.

Also a suspect is a dark-haired white female who was wearing a green T-shirt and blue jeans and carrying a blue purse.

T cameras captured images of the suspects as they entered the Green Line’s Government Center station shortly before the stabbings.

The incident occurred at 11:29 p.m. Monday. The victims were on a Park Street platform after attending a rally for the Red Sox playoff run earlier in the day at City Hall Plaza.

Police reportedly found two knives at the scene.

One of the victims was able to walk on his own when emergency workers arrived. The other was lying in a pool of blood on the platform. Both were taken to Massachusetts General Hospital.

The victims told police that they did not know their assailants.

Anyone with information should call Detective Brian Harer at 617-222-1069 or T police at 617-222-1050
