Not sure if this has already been asked, but I was looking at some pics off the State police web-site and came across this pic of a Trooper wearing Army ribbons, badges. Is this within regulation or what for the State Police?http://www.mass.gov/Eeops/images/msp...-full-0012.JPG

Yes, it is part of the Class A uniform, if you have such military awards.

Every PD I know allows wearing military ribbons on dress uniforms.

The State Police were first comprised of some Civil War veterans in 1865 but did not wear uniforms. Veterans have always held positions within the State Police. When uniforms were first prescribed, General Alfred Foote was in command of the State Police. He had served in WWI. It was written that since many patrolmen (now called Troopers) had or were serving with honor in the military, medals and ribbons were authorized for wear.........and the rest they say is history.

He's got a CIB so he's had fun..

Infantry cord is not something that you would wear with State Police Dress uniform, unit awards such as Presidential unit citation or meritorious unit citation are also something that you would not wear.

Well, true for active military service and reserves...but not the National Guard...until Trooper Earl "X" from B2 made a stink...now everyone can display their ribbons. Unfortunately, the trooper in question paid for it for the remainder of his career.
