The Sterling Police Department is anticipating a vacancy in its patrol force as of mid- October. In an attempt to fill that vacancy in a timely and seamless manner resumes are being accepted.
Candidates for the position should possess or exceed the listed minimum requirements:Sterling is located in Central Massachusetts and employs twelve full time officers. Officers work a four and two schedule. Employee benefits are outlined in a collective bargaining agreement. Some of the benefits are, partially paid medical for officer and family, longevity, shift differential, paid holidays, physical fitness bonus, paid vacation, personal days, insurance policy, educational benefits, annual uniform allowance, etc.
The union is currently negotiating a contract and the present starting salary range for an academy graduate is $15.78 – $22.38 depending upon experience. Sterling is also a Quinn Bill community.
Applicants for the position will:
· Submit a resume and cover letter
· Undergo a physical & psychological examination or have recently undergone one
· Have and extensive background investigation performed
· Take the department annual physical fitness test

This is a very good department. I have lived in Sterling almost all of my life and the department is very professional. I'd be jumping over this job posting if I wasn't moving to Florida for LE.
