MARLBOROUGH, Mass. -- A woman accused of kidnapping her own daughter and another boy has been sentenced to 20 years in prison.
Cathleen Trotta and her boyfriend, Denis Piper, triggered a statewide Amber Alert in the 2005 kidnapping.
Trotta was convicted two weeks ago of charges including assault and kidnapping after taking her 5-year-old daughter from the Marlborough home of the girl's foster parents, Rebecca and Chris Borey.
She and Piper also allegedly took the Borey's 3-year-old son.
Trotta's daughter was found unharmed in a suitcase with Trotta in a hotel room near Logan International Airport.
The Boreys' boy was found in the Malden apartment of one of Piper's co-workers.
The Boreys were taking care of Trotta's daughter while she dealt with drug abuse.
