SPRINGFIELD, MASSACHUSETTS (WWLP) - Springfield police executed a search warrant at 132 Marion Street in Springfield at 10 p.m. on Thursday night after having that location under surveillance for drug activity.
According to Sergeant David Kane, when officers approached the location, a woman, Mariaangli Biez, began screaming and the two men inside tried to hold the door shut and not let the officers in. One officer made it in and the two men started to assault the officer. The other officers finally broke in and the two men were subdued after an altercation came about.
Confiscated were 142 grams of unpackaged heroin and about 600 bags of packaged heroin. The two men are Marco Santos of the Marion Street address and Carlos Quinones-Guevers of Maynard St. They are being held for trafficking drugs, violation in a school zone, resisting arrest, and assaulting a police officer. Biez is being held for trafficking heroin, violation in a school zone, and resisting arrest.
The officer who was attacked is in good condition.
