State Police Plates??

I know this was brought up in a previous thread, but are there license plates that exist with the MSP logo for personal vehicles? I was on a detail the other day and a truck drove by with veteran plates with the MSP logo next to the number and it didn't look like a sticker. Just curious.

There are other various fleet vehicles with MSP plates, other than crown vics.

This was a early 90s pickup. I am assuming it does not belong to MSP. It didn't have actual MSP plates. They were regular veteran plates only with MSP logo on them.

Someone probably just stuck a sticker on his license plate.

My neighbor has veterans plates on his truck, there's a seal to the left that looks like an MSP seal, but looking closely at it, it's a military something or other seal that just happens to look similar.

It is really, just a part of the vet plate. ( I think he was in 'Nam.... about the right age anyway)

This link might help.

I don't see the one my neighbor has there... it definitely has a circular medallion thingy on the left side of the plate, then the numbers with 'veteran' underneath.

When I first saw it, I thought it was a cruiser plate - then it turned into his driveway!

When you get a Veteran plate in MA, the standard plate has an American flag to the left of the numbers screened onto the plate. A holder of a veteran plate may obtain from the RMV a branch of service decal to cover the flag and represent his/her respective service branch. If you are 100% sure that it was an MSP logo, your neighbor somehow obtained or made a decal with the MSP logo and put it on the plate (which is unauthorized and illegal).

If you are not sure, it is likely you accidentally mistook the circular Navy, Coast Guard, Army or USMC decal for the State Police seal. Take a closer look if you see it again.

I saw a cruiser the other day in Medford. This trooper had to be about 6'5" tall with black hair and he had numerous Irish bumper stickers affixed to the inner separation between the back and front seats. It looked cool.
