NORTH BALTIMORE — A man shot by an off-duty Baltimore police officer early this morning in North Baltimore has died, according to a department official.
Sterling Clifford, a police spokesman, said a preliminary investigation has revealed that the officer was approached by a man armed with a gun. No other details were immediately available.
The incident occurred around 4 a.m. in the 900 block of Belgian Ave., near St. Georges Avenue. Clifford said they are interviewing a witness.
It is the 25th time that a city officer has shot someone this year. Ten of the people have died.

Good thing it wasn't a defenseless citizen, otherwise there would be just one more victim and a perp on the loose. Makes you wonder how many other victims this criminal had before he went up against the wrong guy, and why it needs to be like that to begin with.
