I missed orientation on the 4th, because I was on the waiting list, my question is how do they want us to label our equipment. In the student Officer handbook it says Black block lettering on everything, does that go for black items too. For example my black duffle bag and black stocking hat??? Any help would be appreciated

Best advice I can give you is label EVERYTHING, socks, pens, EVERYTHING. On the black things, get a white pen and label them, ie: on the hat use a white fabric pen you can find at a craft store, for the bag, the place I got it lettered it for me in white lettering. The place you get your uniforms/equipment should be able to letter those things, like your bag and white shirts, if not, find somewhere that will. And Get a label maker for other things. Just be sure that EVERYTHING is labeled.
