STOUGHTON— Radio Shack at 678 Washington St. on Monday became the fifth business in two weeks to fall victim to robbery.
Police said two men entered the store at 6:13 p.m. Monday and demanded money from a clerk standing behind the counter.
One of the suspects made a gesture that he was armed, police said.
Both robbers then went behind the counter, emptied the register of $250 and demanded more money from the clerk, police said. When the clerk could not produce the money, the robbers grabbed four Motorola Bluetooth headphone sets, valued at $100 each, and ran out of the store, police said.
The robbers were described as black males in their 20s, wearing black “do-rags” and shirts pulled up to mask their faces.
One of the men was of medium build and wore a black shirt. The other wore a black, hooded sweatshirt, police said.
Executive Officer Thomas Murphy said police are also searching for a female accomplice who made a purchase inside the store minutes before the robbery.
She is described as a black female about 5 feet, 6 inches tall, with short hair, possibly in dreadlocks, wearing flowered blue jeans.
“We believe her actions were to make sure the store was clear,” Murphy said.
All three suspects got away on foot, heading in the direction of Monk Street, police said.
“At this point, we don't know if there was a vehicle parked in the area of Monk Street,” Murphy said.
Murphy said it is uncertain whether any of the five robberies is connected.
During the past two weeks robbers have struck at Pages II at 506 Page St., Cumberland Farms at 309 Park St., the Courtyard Marriott Boston at 200 Technology Drive, and Stoughton Cooperative Bank at 20 Park St.
Most of the robbers were described as white men in their 20s, another as possibly Hispanic.
Murphy urged anyone with information about any of the robberies to call police at 781-344-2575.
