I think the recent shift in colors attests to police departments more interested in stopping crime then appearing like "officer friendly" to the public. I believe it makes cruisers appear more "aggressive" and professional, and applaud the change. |

But I've heard (don't know if it is true) that the change actually had to do with being a member of NEMLEC. Side note, we had a Capt. telling officers we were switching to lime green (remember some of the old fire apparatus?) as they were more visible and prevented accidents. That had some guys all pissed off and the Capt. was just busting em. |
