HAHAHA...

Why don't you look up the types of new uppers you can buy and figure it out yourself!

Posted by: pahapoika

maybe LE only upper ?

i believe pre-ban was before 1996 , but i could be wrong.

nice rifle just the same

"pre-ban" "1996 I think" "LEO-only"
Really, just buy it or shut up...YEESH

Or ask real questions like; "is it Colt's/Bushmaster/DPMs/Olympic/Uncle Freds, etc!!?". "Why is the flash suppressor a different shade of Phospate than the barrel?

I second that question...what brand, and why does the flash suppessor look different? Did it originally have a compensator?

Posted by: 14Paul

It made by playschool, my first M4. The flash suppressor's is really a piece of licorice. If anyone is really interested e-mail or pm me...

Well, I was interested but now I'll buy one from Stag that comes with a bolt, bolt carrier, charging handle, and ARMS flip-up rear sight for $495.00.

I assumed that when he said "preban" he meant that the upper could only be used on a "preban" lower. Technically you could have a brand new upper with all the evil features you wanted as it's not a gun. If you had a lower that was not preban or a collection of lowers and the upper was just there with them, you would have a problem BUT if you had it attached to a preban lower, you would be good to go. A preban lower would be a lower made prior to 1994 and assembled in a configuration that included an upper with all those evil features. The mistake people make is owning a "target" preban lower and then thinking they could attach an "evil feature rich" upper to it. That would constitute making a new Semi Automatic Assault Weapon TODAY and that would be bad, well at least in a few ass backwards states...like MA.

No, as a matter of fact, I'm not. Stag makes excellent standard uppers in addition to their uppers for people with their arms screwed on backwards.

for people with their arms screwed on backwards

always see their ad for the "only left handed ar-15 made" . thought that was their only fote

That was actually a ruling of the federal gov't back during the ban days. There is some dispute that it flows though to our state AWB...but I'd err on the side of caution.

It is my limited understanding that Stag is somehow very involved in the S&W guns, as the S&W guns are all Troy industry parts on the upper (or a combination of parts made famous by Troy) along with an OEM lower (which I thought was from Stag).
I think if you look at the proof marking you will see what I'm talking about.
