Nature of Work: This is responsible supervisory law enforcement work directing a shift of police personnel in the protection of life and property, or in specialized staff activities for the City of Opa-locka Police Department.
Requirement: Currently employed within the City of Opa-Locka Police Department* with a permanent status and seven continuous years of full-time service, with two in a supervisory capacity. Overall rating of satisfactory or above n the performance evaluations covering the most recent period. *Individuals not employed with the City must have a minimum of seven years of law enforcement experience, with at least two in a supervisory capacity. Must possess a current State of Florida police certification, or have been separated within preceding 24 months from another police agency if not currently employed.
Education, Training & Experience Requirements: Previous law enforcement experience to include at least seven years in a supervisory capacity. Bachelors degree supplemented by progressively responsible experience as a uniformed or investigative law enforcement Sergeant or Corporal, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
