QUINCY - A Quincy man was arrested after allegedly swinging a knife while assaulting a store clerk.
Ricky R. Faison, 41, of 547 Washington Street was in a convenience store on Washington Street shortly before 4 a.m. Saturday and asked to cash in some scratch tickets, police said.
When the clerk said that the machine was not operating, Faison first pushed the clerk and then swung a knife, police said.
The clerk was able to get out of the way and was not injured, police said.
Police said Faison fled on foot and, a short time later, was noticed walking nearby by a police officer.
Faison was arrested and charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, a knife; and assault and battery.
He was due to be arraigned today in Quincy District Court.
