BROCKTON— Police were investigating two armed robberies Friday, one at a convenience store and a second at a gasoline station.
In the first holdup, a bearded man with a knife robbed a convenience store early Friday, making off with two cash registers.
The suspect walked into the 7-11 at 662 Belmont St. around 2:20 a.m., pulled a knife from his waistband and came toward the clerk, Lt. John Crowley, chief of detectives, said.
“The clerk jumped over the counter and fled the store,” Crowley said.
But after the clerk left, he saw the suspect leave with both store cash registers. One had $90, the other was empty, Crowley said.
The suspect put both registers in a pickup truck and left, he said.
The suspect was described as between age 35 and 45 with a full beard and braided hair.
In the second robbery, a man brandishing a gun robbed the Getty station on Pleasant Street around 3:30 p.m. Friday before fleeing.
