I know I'll get flamed by Sine,BB and others but I think the best color scheme I've seen is Barnstable PD...

Just my 2 pennies

Mashpee's old scheme (blue) was very nice- the new chief did away with it to style the cars like the LAPD. Now all of the cars are black & whites and most don't have wheelcovers. Lets hope the MX7000 isn't next to replace those nice new Whelen Libertys.

There's always 1 in the crowd...

Guy W. Glodis' name written all over the cruiser is a nice touch

Hell ive seen plenty of towns with cooler schemes, although MSP is kool as well.

I like Maryland State Police's scheme, I think the green and black looks sharp....

I'm not a big fan of the black and green scheme...I think Park Ranger not State Trooper when I see one of those things...

There were still some 97's on the turnpike until recently.

LOL, probably someone who isn't the best at backing into a parking space. If that was someone I knew pulling in when everyone else backed in I would be giving them hell for it.

Posted by: Foxy85

Nah, Maryland looks like a military-type scheme to me, you want to talk park rangers, look at new hampshire or vermont...

Posted by: alamarc

very nice

Posted by: Foxy85

I think they should have the Colonel's name in fancy cursive lettering across the sides like Worcester County

Posted by: HELPMe

Not to sound like a whacker..lol..but i like the GA SP scheme and FHP scheme.

Posted by: Foxy85

I read online for the FHP that their scheme is suppose to be "camoflauge". THe black is meant to blend in with the pavement and the tan with the grass/treeline....<<<<Must have a lot of burned up lawns down their in Florida....

FHP cruisers blend in with the Bumble Bees

Posted by: snapbox

I've never seen it anywhere but Florida- You'll get one trooper in the BDL with his trunk lid up, acting like he's broken down, running Lidar. Then over the hill 5 troopers are awaiting the cars. I've seen 5 troopers in a row on I-95 all on stops within a quarter mile.

I've never seen how they blend in with that scheme... But those Javelin bars are something else!

I was like what are they doing at the Hartford Airport?

anyway, remember teamwork is KEY! can someone post a picture of a FHP cruiser? i wanna see what all the fuss is about

A few years ago the FHP had a study on red vs. blue lights and how effective they are in different lighting conditions. Turns out red has a longer wavelength and is more visible during the day, while blue is more effective at night. After issuing the specs, Code 3 won the bid. They developed the Javelin bar, which has a photocell that switches between red/blue depending on light conditions. Rumor has it some of the guys actually taped over the photocell, as they've always been all blue agency (most of FL is Red/Blue) and some couldn't let go . PBC FL Cop could tell you more, I'm sure.

Its a really good setup I wish we'd adopt up here...

I really thought after 9pm I was useless (or so my girlfriend tells me).

thanks guys, yeah that color scheme ain't bad, but still like the MSP better

Posted by: HELPMe

yes the fhp scheme is meant to camo the car. Most of florida has tall tan grass on the side of the hw so i can see how it might work. All they do however, is traffic enforcement and are kind of regarded lower on the food chain of LE. The have some cool toys like camaros, SSP mustangs, and marauders. Plus its all take home. Granted the pay sucks.

i talked to a trooper when i was down there on vaca and he responded to a call with it on and its pretty bright. Def gets your attention but i dont see how red in the florida sun is any better then blue.
