Border Patrol Looking For Recruits

(Click here to view the original thread on the MassCops Message Board)

The U.S. Border Patrol is recruiting. They are looking for men and women between the ages of 18 and 40.
For more than eighty years, they've watched the border to stop people from entering illegally. After 9/11, their jobs were expanded to guard against terrorists and illegal weapons from entering the country. They want to recruit 8,000 new members.
Katherine Thibault is a U.S. Border Patrol Recruiter: "You need to be someone who likes the out doors. It's a very active job. It's a federal job so you have federal benefits and retirement and the pay is very good."
There is a five months training period at the border patrol academy in new Mexico, and a certain amount of service in the southwest... agents can put in for transfers to areas they want to live and work in.
Starting salary is a little under $36,000 a year but an agent can earn an additional 25 percent of his salary each year with overtime.
