(WBZ) MEDWAY, Mass. A state trooper and a motorcyclist were injured in a high-speed chase Tuesday afternoon in Medway.

Around 4:39 p.m., a trooper tried to pull over a motorcyclist on suspicion of speeding on eastbound Route 108 when the motorcyclist increased his speed to nearly 100 mph, officials said.

At some point in the chase the trooper lost control of his cruiser and crashed one mile east of Interstate 495.

Shortly after, the motorcyclist crashed into a Toyota sedan. He had to be airlifted to UMass Medical Center with serious injuries.

The trooper was taken to Milford Hospital with minor injuries.

Eastbound Route 109 was closed for a time following the crash but was later reopened.

It should read 109. Also I think the area was in Medway near the Medway Fire Station/126 to 109 Road. I am glad the trooper only has minor injuries.

WTF is up with all these motorcycles taking off on the police. It seems like it's happening everyday now.

It's because they know we have some concept of personal and public safety.

The suspects know we have to "play by the rules" and if they push it far enough, we just might have to terminate the pursuit for "safety reasons".

Good to hear that the Trooper was not the one seriously injured.....

He ran because he didn't have a M license and his D license was suspended in CT.

State Police cruiser crashes during chase in Medway

MEDWAY, Mass. -- A State Police officer was injured when he lost control of his cruiser and hit a tree during a police chase on Route 109 in Medway.
The police officer was doing a routine speed enforcement on Route 495 southbound when a motorcycle sped past the trooper. The officer attempted to pull the driver over, but the operator of the motorcycle would not stop.
The driver of the motorcycle exited the highway onto Route 109 eastbound, traveling at approximately 100 mph. The trooper lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a tree about one-mile from Route 495.
The officer sustained minor injuries and was taken to Milford Hospital where he was treated and released.
The motorcycle, which continued traveling on Route 109, crashed into a sedan at the intersection with Route 126.
The driver of the sedan is uninjured, however the driver of the motorcycle sustained serious injuries and was med-flighted to UMass Medical Center in Worcester to be treated.

This state police cruiser crashed in Medway while it was chasing a motorcyclist. The motorcyclist crashed farther down the road.

His name has not been released yet, but I heard the only injury suffered was a broken nose.

Because they know many supervisors have no sack, and will terminate just about any pursuit.

I'm glad the trooper is relatively okay, and also amused that Evil Knievel wiped-out down the road.

The real reason the biker/squid ran was he thought it made more sense to risk his and other peoples lives, rather than a get a warning or $100 90/18 at worst...

Damn kids! can't teach em anything!

Fail to stop should be a Felony with an instant 3 year penalty. Some day the legislature will wake up and recognize that this NEEDS to happen. Hopefully before a PO loses his/her life in a pursuit.........

First they'd have to put down the phone (while telling a suspect not to talk, they'll be right down), get off their comfy chairs and join the real world.

This trooper knew how to drive! It looks like he slid to his right hitting the tree which may have saved his life. PS if you know your going to lose control of your car turn left and slide to you right!!! Just hope you dont have any passangers setting on the right. OH! WELL!

Posted by: Sniper

........ I don't think he had much of a choice as to where he was going to final rest........ Did you learn that in CCPA EVOC ?
